Ingredients
- 2 1/4 - 2 3/4 cup All Purpose Flour
- 1 package Active Dry Yeast 2 1/4 tsp of yeast
- 1 tsp F. Oliver's Rosemary Flake Salt or F. Oliver's Original Flake Salt
- 1 cup Warm Water 120 - 130 degrees F
- 2 tbsp F. Oliver's Tuscan Garden Olive Oil (or any F. Oliver's Olive Oil heaping tbsp
- 1 Egg
- Other Herbs to taste
- Any Toppings Recommended: peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, and a bit of shredded cheese
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of the flour, undissolved yeast, herbs, and salt. Stir gently.
- Stir in the 1 cup of warm water and F. Oliver's Olive Oil into the dry ingredients.
- Stir in the egg and enough remaining flour to make a stiff dough (it may exceed the 2 1/4 cup mentioned; it depends on the humidity of the environment).
- Once well incorporated, cover for 10 minutes.
- Uncover after 10 minutes and with lightly oiled hands, spread the dough into a baking pan (9 x 13 in) or cast iron pan.
- Add any desired toppings like veggies or cheese.
- Cover loosely with plastic wrap and allow dough to rise for 15 - 30 minutes until it is almost doubled in size. You want the dough to be warm, you can set it near your oven.
- Preheat oven while dough is rising to 400 degrees F.
- Once the dough has risen, bake at 400 degrees F for about 25 minutes or until done.
- Let cool on a wire rack and serve warm or dip into an F. Oliver's Flavor Infused Aged Balsamic.
